THE
ROCK: What made you get interested in modeling?
JAZZMINE: It's been a dream of mine since
I was very
young. I always looked at fashion magazines, and
didn't think I had what it took to be one of them.
Nowadays, I know I can be a great model, and my self-
esteem comes from working hard at modeling everytime I
do it. I put all of my energy into it.
THE
ROCK: Who is your role model in the modeling
industry?
JAZZMINE:: Yasmine Ghauri. She is the only
famous
supermodel I know who has dealt with being Muslim and
being a model at the same time.
THE
ROCK: What are your goals in the modeling
industry?
JAZZMINE: I dont expect to be a huge supermodel,
although it is what I want. I just love what I do,
and appreciate it when other people do, too. I would
love to at one point be signed by an agency.
THE
ROCK: If you could change something about the
world, what would it be?
JAZZMINE: End all the pain and suffering
that is
seen so often. Mainly with all the uncessesary hate
and misundestanding when it comes to other peoples'
beliefs and values.
THE
ROCK: What (3) words best describe you?
JAZZMINE: Genuine, Determined, Versatile.
THE
ROCK: What are the pros and cons of the modeling
world?
JAZZMINE: Pro would be the sheer art of modeling.
When it comes to the fashion of clothes, or the
concepts used in photography, even to the poses and
the unique look of every model. All coming together
to create a creative illusion to inspire people. Con
would be the many politics of dealing with people; you
definitely deal with so many fake people. Also, it can
be hard to break the whole image of fashion modeling
today. So often you see that modeling is either about
being bone skinny or bearing it all. In most cases,
neither is needed, but it is whats popular. I feel
misconceptions can be broken and modeling can be seen
in a whole different light as I see it... as an art form.
THE
ROCK: What best distinguishes you from the other
models in the industry?
JAZZMINE: If you ask anyone I know, they
can tell
you that I'm 100% real and totally down to earth. What
mainly makes me different is exactly that... I love
doing and trying different things. After sticking to
one theme too long, I feel it's time to change my
direction and try something new. That is why I feel I
can't be classified into one category, which
definitely makes me stand out.
THE
ROCK: What is your most exciting experience in
the modeling world?
JAZZMINE: Well everytime I go to shoots,
the
excitement of seeing what I can create and the
finished product is what keeps me going to continue
doing what I love. Walking down the runway is also a
huge rush... the excitement of the people watching me
perform is something I thrive on.
