THE ROCK: What made you get interested in modeling?
JULIANA: I did a pageant in 2001 with Cities of America up in Syracuse, NY. I was really nervous because there were 53 other girls in my category, but I still placed in the top 10 which qualified me for the national competition, so I started thinking, "Hmmm, maybe I can do this."
THE ROCK: Who is your role model in the modeling industry?
JULIANA: I don't know about a role model, per se, but I definitely admire the likes of Tyra Banks and Adriana Lima. They're amazing and absolutely gorgeous.
THE ROCK: What are your goals in the modeling industry?
JULIANA: If nothing more, I just want to have fun with it; and hopefully, I'll make a couple friends and a good base of contacts in the process. Even if I never make a full career out of this, if I can look back and think, "That was an amazing time and a great experience," then it was all a success in the end.
THE ROCK: If you could change something about the world, what would it be?
JULIANA: First off I'd make means of travel from country to country easier; I don't know how, but somehow, I'd do it. Honestly, I don't know what I'd change about the world. There is so much going on, but I really don't think I'm in a place to actually change any of it. I'd definitely try to help with awareness of the more serious issues, though.
THE ROCK: What (3) words best describe you?
JULIANA: Persistent, Determined, Spontaneous.
THE ROCK: What are the pros and cons of the modeling world?
JULIANA: The experience you get (and the shots to prove it is definitely a pro. Another pro is you also learn a lot about everything behind taking the pictures, and some of the behind the scenes details behind the fashion and modeling world. Also, some of the people you meet along the way can become really good friends. The biggest con I can think of is, as with any other job, the high competition to get the best jobs, and how certain people are high demand, which makes it harder for other people to get their start.
